Higher education institutions (HEIs) have a pivotal role in fulfilling the social dimension of sustainability and contributing to complex changing society. To meet these challenges, Malmö University has interdisciplinary groups researched challenge-based learning (CBL) relation staff, students, disciplines, stakeholders. This position paper is based on that work. argues with CBL approach, HEIs will actively contribute building sustainable society through collaboration education, research, innovation. theoretically explores approach as collaborative exchange within at large. defined eight key elements, clustered entities three domains: diversity inclusion, co-creation collaboration, change agents contextual challenges.
